Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What do I have to do to join the 108th Army Band?

The first thing you need to do is contact us - call the armory at 602-267-2876 or fill out our Request for Information form.

We rehearse one weekend per month and welcome you to come and visit us to see us in our practice hall - we encourage you sit in and play with us.  Check with us to see if we will be rehearsing on the day you'd like to stop by!

If you are ready to join, there are several things that you must do:

You must pass an audition that is given by the band commander and/or a band member that is assigned by the commander to assist in the audition.

If you pass the audition and are accepted, you must be able to complete the Army's requirements for being a soldier - if you have prior military service then you follow the enlistment procedures to enlist in the Arizona Army National Guard - you must pass the physical exam.  If you have no prior military service, you then need to pass the physical exam and ASFAB test and attend basic training and a two-week active-duty assignment with a military band.  These requirements can change so be sure to check with us and/or your recruiter to get all the correct information.

Can I hire the 108th Army Band to perform at my function?

The 108th Army Band is a military band and as such performs at civic and military functions and at functions that promote esprit de corps or support Army recruiting.  For more information, please contact the armory at 602-267-2876 or email info@108tharmyband.org
